According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, negotiations over Paulo Dybala’s contract renewal have entered a decisive stage, with his agent, Carlos Novel, remaining in Rome to finalize the last details with the club.
The main sticking point is Dybala’s salary. The Giallorossi are proposing a lower fixed wage — between €2 million and €2.5 million — supplemented by substantial performance- and appearance-related bonuses. The structure is intended to protect the club financially, given the Argentine forward’s injury record as he approaches 33.
Gian Piero Gasperini has already given his full approval to the deal, viewing Dybala as a key part of his tactical project, while also recognizing the need to manage him carefully.
Roma, however, are eager to move quickly. Interest from abroad is growing, particularly from Tottenham Hotspur, reportedly led by Roberto De Zerbi. Dybala wants to stay in the capital, and for that reason Roma are keen to finalize the agreement before the international transfer market further complicates the situation.
