Roma Scout Seen in Germany Watching Leverkusen-Leipzig

Antonio Nusa for RB Leipzig

Roma’s position in the table is still far from certain, but the planning for the next season is already in full swing. The need for attacking talent is evident, and explicitly requested by manager Gian Piero Gasperini.

In order to fulfill the manager’s wishes Roma’s scouting department is scouring in Italy, but also outside the peninsula. Roma scouts were spotted this weekend taking in the Bayer Leverkusen – RB Leipzig game in Germany.

The club’s been linked with many players from both squads, but most prominently the names of Antonio Nusa and Xavier Schlager. Nusa is said to be the dream acquisition this summer, but his price tag is likely to be prohibitive especially without Champions League football.

Schlager is seen as more of a viable option considering that his contract is expiring this summer and he’s free to sign with any club. He would represent a much needed midfield option for Roma going forward.
