Roma Ready Massive Offer for Giovanni Manna as Friedkins Push to Reshape Club Leadership

AS Roma are making a serious move for Giovanni Manna, who has emerged as the leading candidate to take charge of the club’s sporting director role and oversee the Giallorossi’s transfer strategy moving forward.

According to journalist Matteo De Santis, Roma have placed a major financial proposal on the table in an effort to convince the current Napoli sporting director to join the club. The offer reportedly exceeds more than three times the salary Manna currently earns at SSC Napoli, where his annual salary is believed to be around €1 million.

Friedkins Pushing Hard for Manna

The Friedkin ownership group is said to be strongly backing the move as they continue restructuring Roma’s sporting project ahead of a crucial summer.

Manna is viewed internally as the ideal figure to lead the club’s market operations alongside head coach Gian Piero Gasperini, with Roma aiming to build a new long-term sporting structure.

The scale of the financial proposal is reportedly creating a significant temptation for the Napoli executive, who is now expected to hold a decisive meeting with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis to discuss his future.

Release Clause Could Complicate Deal

Despite Roma’s confidence, the operation is not without complications.

As is common in contracts negotiated by De Laurentiis, Napoli reportedly included specific protections in Manna’s agreement. In order to release the sporting director before the end of his contract, Roma may need to pay compensation or activate a contractual exit clause rumoured to be 10 million euros.

This remains the main obstacle in negotiations, although reports suggest optimism is growing inside Roma.
