According to reports from Alfredo Pedullà, AS Roma are continuing their search for a new sporting director and are expected to hold an exploratory meeting with Cristiano Giaretta in the coming days.
Giaretta has emerged as one of several profiles being evaluated by the Friedkin ownership following the anticipated departure of Frederic Massara. The Italian executive, currently working with Pafos in Cyprus, is appreciated for his international experience and previous work in Italian football with clubs such as Udinese and Watford.
Roma’s priority target remains Giovanni Manna, but negotiations remain difficult due to his contract with SSC Napoli and Aurelio De Laurentiis’ reluctance to release him without significant compensation.
As a result, Roma have broadened their shortlist, with Giaretta now viewed as a serious alternative while the club looks to finalize its executive structure ahead of a crucial summer rebuild under Gian Piero Gasperini.
