With the departure of Claudio Ranieri and the soon to be ex sporting director of the club Ricky Massara on the way out there must be serious decisions made and quickly at Roma.
According to reports from Sky Sport the Friedkin family is expected to arrive in Italy in the coming days to address several key issues surrounding Roma’s future, including the appointment of a new sporting director and the situation involving Paulo Dybala.
The ownership is reportedly eager to accelerate planning for next season alongside Gian Piero Gasperini, with the sporting director search remaining one of the club’s top priorities. Giovanni Manna continues to be highly appreciated internally, although negotiations remain complicated by his contract with Napoli.
Discussions are also expected regarding Dybala’s future and physical management ahead of next season. The Argentine remains central to Roma’s technical and marketing project, but recurring injury concerns have forced the club to carefully evaluate how to manage him moving forward. His 6 million euro a season contract is no longer seen as viable for the club.
Ryan Friedkin is also expected to meet directly with Gasperini at Trigoria as Roma continue shaping their summer strategy, transfer plans, and broader structural changes behind the scenes.
