AS Roma and Ricky Massara have reportedly reached an agreement for the consensual termination of the sporting director’s contract, bringing his second spell at the club close to an end.
The agreement is now awaiting only the final signature and Roma’s definitive decision regarding the appointment of a new sporting director before the separation becomes official.
According to the latest report by Checco Casano, Massara will continue receiving his salary through June, the same period in which a pre-existing early termination clause in his contract would have become active regardless. The arrangement has therefore allowed both parties to avoid further complications as Roma continue restructuring the club’s sporting department.
Massara’s departure has appeared increasingly likely in recent weeks amid growing changes behind the scenes at Trigoria and the rising influence of head coach Gian Piero Gasperini over the club’s sporting project.
Roma ownership is currently evaluating several candidates to replace Massara, with the front runners being Giovanni Manna and Tony D’Amico.
The decision on the club’s next sporting director is expected to play a crucial role in shaping Roma’s summer transfer strategy and long-term sporting direction.
