According to Niccolo Schira, Riccardo Del Vescovo is the leading candidate to return to AS Roma as Head of the Medical Staff. He previously worked with Gasperini at Atalanta, and the two share an excellent relationship.
Gasperini is said to be furious with the medical staff during the season, and is seen as a key reason for the teams dip in form during a crucial stretch of games. The mishandling of Paulo Dybala, Matias Soule, Artem Dovbyk and Manu Kone are particular cases Gasperini was not happy with.
On the sporting director front Schira also weighs in on the current Serie A carousel. He states that with Cristiano Giuntoli going to Atalanta that frees up Tony D’Amico. However, D’amico is closer to reaching an agreement to joining AC Milan for a contract until 2029. Roma are keeping tabs on the situation as D’Amico and Gasperini also have a very good relationship from their time together in Bergamo.
