The Friedkin family are reportedly not giving up on their attempt to bring Giovanni Manna to AS Roma, with fresh contacts made in recent days to try and convince Napoli to release their sporting director.
According to Matteo Moretto, Roma’s ownership has intensified negotiations in an effort to appoint Manna as the club’s new sporting director ahead of a crucial summer rebuild. The Giallorossi hierarchy sees him as a key figure for the next phase of the project under Gian Piero Gasperini.
However, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis remains firm in his stance. He has so far rejected every approach, insisting that Manna is not available under any circumstances and is expected to continue his work in Naples.
It now remains to be seen whether Roma’s renewed pressure will be enough to change Napoli’s position, or whether the Giallorossi will be forced to turn to alternative candidates for the role.
