Lazio have been dealt a major blow ahead of the Derby della Capitale after goalkeeper Edoardo Motta suffered an injury that will force him to miss the match against Roma. With Ivan Provedel already sidelined long-term, Maurizio Sarri is now expected to start third-choice goalkeeper Alessio Furlanetto.
The injury leaves Lazio in a full emergency situation between the posts just hours before one of the biggest matches of the season. Furlanetto, who began the year as the club’s third-choice keeper, is now set for a surprise derby debut under enormous pressure.
Sarri’s side are already missing Alessio Romagnoli who is out of the game after his red card against Inter.
To further his troubles Corriere dello Sport is reporting that Mattia Zaccagni is suffering a muscle injury and is also set to miss out on the massive game.
