“He’s a golden boy. I had the privilege of playing with him for six years. He’s a true professional and he trained at full intensity.
Yesterday he kept everything bottled up inside himself, and I told him to go on the pitch and score.
We’ll miss him, but we know football is like this. Nobody can erase what he’s done over these 10 years. The fans showed that.
This will always be his home, and I’ll always care deeply about him.”
Pellegrini suggested I ask you how crazy you are to score a brace in the derby?
“Within a season there are so many things — good moments and bad ones. I never would have expected to score two goals. After the second goal, I didn’t even know what to do.
I wanted to hug Lorenzo because he had a small issue and he really cared about being there.”
