Roma are reportedly monitoring Venezia midfielder Issa Doumbia ahead of the summer transfer window as the club continues searching for young, high-upside profiles to strengthen the squad.
The 2003-born midfielder has emerged as one of the standout players in Italy this season after an impressive campaign with Venezia. Doumbia registered 9 goals and 6 assists in 37 appearances, attracting interest from several major clubs across Europe.
According to a report from A Bola in Portugal, Roma are not alone in the race. Sporting are very close to agreeing a deal with Venezia for the midfielder in the 20-25m range.
Benfica are also said to appreciate the player, while Inter, Milan, Atalanta, Juventus, and several Premier League sides such as Newcastle and Everton have also been linked with the midfielder.
The Italian-Ivorian midfielder is viewed as a modern box-to-box profile thanks to his physicality, athleticism, and ability to contribute offensively — characteristics that fit well within Gian Piero Gasperini’s style of play.
