Serie A’s Sporting Judge has officially confirmed disciplinary decisions following Roma’s derby victory over Lazio, with Wesley receiving a one-match suspension and a €10,000 fine after being sent off during the second half of the match. The Brazilian defender was punished for striking Nicolò Rovella in the face during an altercation in the 70th minute.
The suspension means Wesley’s season is effectively over, as he will miss Roma’s final league match against Hellas Verona. Lazio midfielder Rovella also received the same fine after being dismissed in the same incident.
Meanwhile, Mario Hermoso and Stephan El Shaarawy have both entered the list of players at risk of suspension after picking up, respectively, their ninth and fourth yellow cards of the season. The two join Gianluca Mancini among Roma’s players currently one booking away from a ban.
Roma were also fined €2,000 after supporters threw a firecracker into the playing area during the derby.
