Roma Interested in Carlos Augusto, Separate From Any Koné Deal

Roma are reportedly showing interest in Inter wing-back Carlos Augusto ahead of the summer transfer window. According to reports from Corriere Della Sera the Giallorossi have begun monitoring the Brazilian’s situation as Gian Piero Gasperini looks to strengthen the squad with versatile wide players.

Importantly the potential move is considered completely separate from any discussions involving Manu Koné and Inter. In recent days the French midfielder has continued to attract strong interest from the Nerazzurri, but Roma’s interest in Carlos Augusto is reportedly not linked to a possible exchange operation.

Carlos Augusto is appreciated for his tactical flexibility, ability to play as both a wing-back and centre back, as well as his experience in Serie A. Those characteristics are viewed as ideal fits for Gasperini’s system, which relies heavily on dynamic wide players capable of contributing in both phases of play.

Roma continue to evaluate several profiles across multiple positions as the Friedkin ownership and Gasperini prepare for a major summer rebuild ahead of next season
