Roma’s plans for rebuilding the club’s youth academy could lead directly to Verona. Massimo Margiotta is currently the leading candidate to take charge of the Giallorossi youth sector.
The move is closely tied to Roma’s ongoing search for a new sporting director, as Margiotta shares a strong working relationship with Tony D’Amico — one of the main candidates for the sporting director role at Trigoria. The two previously worked successfully together at Hellas Verona, where Margiotta remains under contract.
It is a fitting connection considering that Verona itself could determine Roma’s sporting future on Sunday night at the Bentegodi, with the Giallorossi still fighting for Champions League qualification heading into the final matchday.
