Nusa is Gasperini’s dream signing. Porto’s Pepe also high on his list

AS Roma are preparing for a decisive summer transfer window, with the club set to launch an ambitious “all-out” recruitment drive in attack once their qualification for the UEFA Champions League is confirmed.

The final decision on European qualification is seen as a turning point for the club’s strategy. Only after the verdict will Roma fully activate a market plan that Gian Piero Gasperini intends to execute at a faster pace than in the previous two transfer windows.

Attack becomes the priority

The main focus is strengthening the forward line, where Gasperini is asking for up to three new attacking signings to reshape a department that has struggled with consistency and uncertainty throughout the season. Only the arrival of Donyell Malen provided some stability in an otherwise fluctuating offensive unit.

It’s said Gasperini’s number one dream target for the summer is Antonio Nusa. It would be impossible to recruit him without the most prestigious European competition as he’s already being linked with Liverpool.

Among the alternative names being monitored is Pepê of FC Porto, a Brazilian right winger who also holds an Italian passport—an important detail for squad registration rules.

West Ham’s Summerville is seen as another attacking option the club would consider with Champions League qualification and could be an opportunity signing if the London club are relegated.

Another profile under consideration is Sven Mijnans of AZ Alkmaar, who has already been on the radar of Bologna FC 1909.

Potential departures to balance the squad

Gasperini is also aware that at least one major sale may be required to finance incoming moves. Several squad members are considered potential sacrifices on the market, including Manu Koné, Matías Soulé, and Evan Ndicka.

In addition, there is growing interest from France, where reports suggest Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring goalkeeper Mile Svilar.
