Pellegrini ruled out vs Verona. Tsimikas misses training

Roma continued preparations at Trigoria ahead of the decisive final league match against Verona, but Gian Piero Gasperini received more mixed news from the training ground.

According to reports from Italy, Lorenzo Pellegrini will officially miss the match against Verona. The Roma captain has not recovered in time from the inflammation near the scar tissue in his right hamstring and will therefore be unavailable for the final game of the season.

The midfielder had already missed the derby victory over Lazio and, despite attempts to return in recent days, the medical staff opted against taking any risks ahead of the summer.

Roma were also forced to deal with another absence during today’s session, as Kostas Tsimikas was unable to train due to a fever. His condition will continue to be monitored over the coming hours, although there is cautious optimism that the Greek full-back could still recover in time for Sunday’s match.

More encouraging news arrived regarding Manu Koné, who has returned to partial team training after overcoming a functional overload issue suffered before the derby. The French midfielder is increasingly expected to be available against Verona.

Roma head into the final weekend of the Serie A season still chasing Champions League qualification following their derby win, with Gasperini urging the squad to remain fully focused despite the growing excitement surrounding the club.
