Stephan El Shaarawy delivered an emotional message about his bond with Roma, reaffirming how deeply connected he remains to the club and the city after spending some of the most important years of his career in the capital.
Speaking about his future and his relationship with the Giallorossi, El Shaarawy said:
“Roma will remain always be my favourite place. It’s the club where I grew up, both as a man and as a footballer.”
The Italian forward also revealed that he hopes to return to Rome once his playing career comes to an end.
“I want to come back when I retire because this city and this club have given me so much.”
El Shaarawy then reflected on the affection he has always received from the supporters throughout his two spells with the club.
“The fans have always made me feel loved. I’ll never forget everything they’ve given me.”
The 33-year-old is expected to leave Roma at the end of the season following ten years across two different periods with the club, during which he became one of the most beloved figures inside the dressing room.
“Wearing this shirt has always been a source of pride for me.”
El Shaarawy recently confirmed that the derby victory over Lazio was his final appearance at the Stadio Olimpico in a Roma shirt, bringing an emotional end to a journey filled with unforgettable moments, including the club’s UEFA Conference League triumph
