Pietralata: the agreements for Euro 2032 approved by the City of Rome

This agreement is a key step to unlock the next phase of the project, allowing the official convening of the “service conference” (the administrative decision-making process) and the start of the final authorization procedure for the stadium.

The goal is to streamline coordination between institutions and ensure faster, more efficient administrative timelines, in view of the stadium being included among the infrastructure projects linked to UEFA Euro 2032.

According to the approved scheme, the Commissioner—currently Massimo Sessa—will be responsible for overseeing and accelerating the approval process. Rome Capital and the Lazio Region will provide technical and administrative support throughout the procedure.

The agreement formalizes cooperation between the three parties and sets out their respective responsibilities. It remains valid until December 31, 2032, aligning with the timeline for the European Championship infrastructure plan.

The measure is part of a broader set of regulatory procedures introduced to speed up strategic sports infrastructure projects connected to Euro 2032.

Local officials described the approval as an important step forward, confirming that the administrative process for the Pietralata stadium is now entering its decisive phase.
