Napoli have reportedly decided to appoint Massimiliano Allegri as the replacement for Antonio Conte. The club has moved decisively for the former AC Milan manager, having also seriously considered Vincenzo Italiano, who is currently available after his departure from Bologna.
However, before finalising the agreement with Allegri, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis and sporting director Giovanni Manna reportedly made an attempt to bring in Gian Piero Gasperini, as reported by Ubaldo Righetti on a radio station. The Roma manager, however, made clear he was not available and turned down the offer.
