Roma closing in on Alajbegovic. Waiting for the players approval in the coming days

Roma are closing in on one of Europe’s most exciting young attacking talents, with Bosnian winger Kerim Alajbegović increasingly expected to choose the Giallorossi project in the coming days. According to reports in Corriere dello Sport, the club remain confident that the player will soon give his final approval to the move as negotiations continue behind the scenes.

The 2007-born winger, currently tied to the Red Bull Salzburg and Bayer Leverkusen system has emerged as one of the most highly rated prospects in European football after an impressive breakthrough season. Roma view him as a cornerstone signing for the future and believe the arrival of coach Gian Piero Gasperini could be decisive in convincing him to move to the Italian capital. Gasperini’s reputation for developing young attacking players is reportedly one of the strongest selling points in talks with the player’s entourage.

Former Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanić has also played an important role in discussions. Multiple reports state that he accompanied Alajbegović’s father to Trigoria for meetings with the club hierarchy, helping Roma present a long-term sporting project centered on immediate opportunities and player development.

Competition for the teenager remains intense. AC Milan, SSC Napoli and other Serie A clubs have monitored the winger closely, while Corriere dello Sport previously reported that Milan scouts were sent to evaluate him during international youth fixtures.   However, Roma believe they hold an advantage because they can offer Alajbegović a clearer path to first-team football immediately.

Financially, the operation remains complicated. Reports in Corriere dello Sport suggest the overall valuation could rise well beyond €20 million, with Bayer Leverkusen expected to demand a substantial fee for one of Europe’s top emerging talents. Still, Roma ownership are said to be prepared to invest heavily as part of the club’s rebuild under Gasperini.
