After an excellent first season in Rome, Wesley has been called up to the Brazilian national teams World Cup squad by former Roma icon Carlo Ancelotti.
In the lead up to the tournament the Italian manager spoke about Wesley’s role at Roma before their friendly against Panama.
Ancelotti particularly emphasized the player’s tactical growth during his season with Roma. “Wesley did very well at Roma as a left-back. He was a surprise. But we need him here at right-back. He’ll operate as a right-back.”
Wesley is set to play a major role in this summers World Cup and is hoping to return to Roma with a winners medal.
