Dybala’s renewal will be D’Amico‘s first big move. Announcement expected within the next week

Roma’s new sporting director, Tony D’Amico, is expected to make Paulo Dybala’s contract extension his first major move. According to Gazzetta.it, the Argentine forward and Roma are set to continue together for at least two more years.

The breakthrough came after Roma’s match against Parma, when Dybala said after the game that the upcoming derby against Lazio would be his final match at the Stadio Olimpico in a Roma shirt. However, head coach Gian Piero Gasperini played a key role in changing the situation, strongly pushing for Dybala to remain at the club.

Dybala’s agent, Carlos Novel, and Roma’s owners, the Friedkin family, have reportedly reached an agreement on a new two-year deal. The contract would include a salary significantly lower than what Dybala currently earns.

As Roma approaches its 100th anniversary, Dybala looks set to remain a Roma player. Unless there is an unexpected change, the official announcement is expected within the next week.

Although injuries have caused him to miss many matches, Dybala’s importance to the team during the final part of the season convinced the Friedkins to meet the requests of both his representatives and, especially, Gasperini, who has consistently wanted him to stay at Roma’s training center in Trigoria.
