Matías Soulé Left Out of Argentina’s Club World Cup Squad – Aston Villa Interested, Roma Sets Price

Matías Soulé was not included in Argentina’s squad for the upcoming Club World Cup, a decision that has drawn attention as speculation about his future continues.

According to reports, Premier League side Aston Villa have intensified their interest in the Roma winger. The English club is reportedly considering a move during the summer transfer window, and contacts have already taken place.

Stuttgart is also very interested in Soule, but it’s stated this his preference would be to move to the Premier League.

Roma are not actively trying to sell Soulé, but they would consider a transfer if a sufficiently high offer arrives as the club may need as much as €60m in capital games for FFP.

Recent reports indicate that the club values the Argentine at roughly €35–40 million, with several sources citing €40 million as the figure that could convince Roma to negotiate.

A sale at that level would generate a significant capital gain for Roma because they signed Soulé from Juventus in 2024 for a package worth approximately €26 million plus bonuses, while Juventus retained a sell-on percentage.

The article suggests that Roma’s financial considerations and Aston Villa’s strong interest could make Soulé one of the notable transfer stories of the summer, although no agreement has been reached yet.
