Napoli and Roma are closely monitoring Dodô, Fiorentina’s right-back. The Brazilian, whose contract runs until 2027 and who currently has no prospects of renewing, is valued at around €15 million and is seen as a market opportunity.
Napoli have included him on their shortlist of potential reinforcements to provide competition and support for Di Lorenzo, while Roma view him as an ideal fit for Gian Piero Gasperini’s wing-oriented style of play.
The Giallorossi had already made inquiries about the player a year ago, and sporting director Frederic Massara reopened contacts with Dodô’s representatives between April and May. Now, Napoli’s interest will have to be managed by Tony D’Amico, who is a candidate to become Roma’s new sporting director.
Gasperini, eager to strengthen the wide areas with attack-minded players, is a big admirer of Dodô, although he is also considering other options such as Davide Zappacosta and Wesley.
Several changes are expected on Roma’s flanks during the summer transfer window, with a number of positions still to be settled.
