Roma want to overhaul their attacking department, and coach Gian Piero Gasperini has asked for two wide attackers ahead of next season. One of the names on the club’s shortlist is Crysencio Summerville of West Ham United, who were relegated to the Championship after finishing third from bottom in the Premier League. According to reports from the Netherlands, the 2001-born winger is at the top of Roma’s target list and is considered the ideal attacking reinforcement for Gasperini. Roma appear willing to meet West Ham’s asking price, but the player wants to take his time and will wait until after the World Cup before deciding his future.
However, Roma are not alone in pursuing Summerville. Tottenham Hotspur are also interested. Spurs had already attempted to sign him during the winter transfer window, but the deal did not materialize. They are now expected to make another attempt this summer.
Additional reports indicate that Tottenham are aiming to sign Summerville for around £30 million following West Ham’s relegation. In recent weeks, Spurs have established contact with the player’s representatives, although there are currently no club-to-club negotiations underway.
