According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, new Bologna coach Domenico Tedesco is set to make a final effort to convince Remo Freuler to remain with the Rossoblù. The Swiss midfielder’s contract is due to expire on June 30, and uncertainty continues to surround his future.
A new meeting between Bologna’s management and Freuler’s representatives is expected in the coming days. The discussions will focus on whether there is still room for a last-minute contract renewal for the experienced midfielder, who is currently with the Swiss national team after receiving a World Cup call-up.
Freuler has been strongly linked with a move away from Bologna in recent months, with Roma emerging as one of the most interested clubs. The Giallorossi’s interest is reportedly driven in part by Gian Piero Gasperini, who would welcome the opportunity to reunite with the midfielder after their successful years together at Atalanta.
Despite the growing speculation, Bologna have not yet given up hope of keeping one of their key players, with Tedesco eager to make Freuler part of his plans for the upcoming season.
