The possibility of bringing Gianluca Scamacca back to Roma, after his time in the club’s youth academy, is cooling off more and more.
The Atalanta striker, who was used only sparingly this season by Raffaele Palladino, had a contract set to expire in June 2027.
According to Tuttomercatoweb.com, the Bergamo-based club has decided to exercise its option to extend the striker’s deal by an additional year. As a result, his contract will now run until June 30, 2028.
In recent weeks, there had been talk of possible interest from Roma, who could have signed Scamacca as a backup to Malen or to play alongside the former Aston Villa forward.
However, the contract extension with Atalanta further cools this possibility, and Scamacca now appears likely to remain in Bergamo for the foreseeable future.
