Roma have reportedly set their sights on Spanish full-back Rafael Obrador following his return to Benfica.
According to Portuguese outlet O Jogo, Torino have decided not to activate the €9 million purchase option included in Obrador’s loan deal. The clause, which expired on May 31, was left untouched, resulting in the 21-year-old defender returning to Benfica, who retain ownership of his contract.
With his future once again uncertain, Obrador has emerged as a potential target for Roma as the Giallorossi continue to evaluate options to strengthen their defensive ranks ahead of the new season.
The young Spaniard impressed during his time in Italy and remains highly regarded for his attacking qualities and potential for development. Roma’s interest could offer him the opportunity to remain in Serie A while taking the next step in his career.
While no formal negotiations have been reported at this stage, Obrador’s availability is expected to attract interest from multiple clubs, with Roma now among the teams closely monitoring his situation.
