Roma is preparing to complete another outgoing transfer. After a positive season in Spain, Buba Sangaré is close to becoming a permanent player of Elche.
The Buyout
Elche has informed Roma of its intention to exercise the purchase option set at €4.5 million to acquire Buba Sangaré’s registration rights on a permanent basis. The decision confirms the Spanish club’s confidence in the young talent, whose development during his loan spell has been highly regarded.
Details of the Agreement
According to reports from Filippo Biafora, although Roma will be parting with the player permanently, the club has secured several important protections in its agreement with Elche. The Italian club will retain 20% of any future capital gain generated from a subsequent sale of Sangaré, as well as a right of first refusal, which could allow Roma to intervene in any future transfer negotiations involving the player.
A Valuable Capital Gain
The deal is also positive from a financial standpoint for Roma as the deal will generate €3.9m in plusvalenza which will go towards the clubs FFP settlement this month.
