According to Nicolo Schira, Real Madrid have recently requested information on Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori (born 2002), as interest in the player begins to take shape ahead of future transfer planning.
At this stage, there are no ongoing negotiations with Arsenal, but the Spanish club’s interest is described as genuine. Early contacts are understood to have taken place as part of preliminary scouting and evaluation.
Schira also notes that José Mourinho is aware of the situation and holds Calafiori in high regard, having previously worked with him during their time together at AS Roma. His appreciation of the defender is seen as another factor highlighting Calafiori’s growing reputation across Europe.
For now, the situation remains at an exploratory stage, with no formal talks yet underway, but initial approaches suggest that Real Madrid are beginning to position themselves in the race for the Italian international.
