Roma willing to let Dovbyk leave on loan to avoid minusvalenza

Roma’s attack will be led once again by Donyell Malen. The Dutch forward, who arrived in January, played a key role in the club’s record-breaking second half of the season.

However, one player in the attacking department who has failed to convince Gian Piero Gasperini is Artem Dovbyk. The Ukrainian striker came very close to leaving the capital during the summer transfer window as part of a swap deal with AC Milan that would have seen Mexican forward Santiago Giménez move in the opposite direction. However, the deal collapsed in the final days of the window.

Dovbyk’s season has been both disappointing and plagued by bad luck. The former Girona striker is now expected to leave, with the Giallorossi actively searching for potential buyers.

According to today’s reports, Roma are determined to avoid making a capital loss on a player they paid more than €30 million for just two years ago. The club essentially has two options: negotiate a swap deal—similar to the one they attempted with Atalanta for Gianluca Scamacca, which ultimately failed—or send the striker out on loan in the hope that his value increases in the future.
