Roma consider Dovbyk expendable, but the striker wants to stay

Roma are open to selling Artem Dovbyk, who continues to attract interest from clubs in England, Türkiye, and Spain.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Dovbyk is eager to remain in Rome and continue his adventure with the Giallorossi, even if it means playing a less prominent role following the arrival of Donyell Malen.

Despite a difficult debut season, the Ukrainian striker believes he can prove his value under Gian Piero Gasperini and make an important contribution across Serie A, the Champions League, and the Coppa Italia. The 27-year-old has already begun training during his summer break to ensure he arrives at preseason in peak condition.

Roma, however, may have different plans. The club reportedly views the former Girona forward as one of the players who could be sacrificed to generate funds and help strengthen the squad elsewhere. Dovbyk currently carries a book value of around €25 million, meaning Roma would consider a sale only if a substantial offer arrives or as part of a player-exchange deal. A loan move with an option to buy has not been ruled out either.

The Friedkin ownership group are determined to avoid a capital loss, but Dovbyk remains a sought-after player, with interest from clubs in England, Türkiye, and Spain.
