Roma Cool Interest in Frattesi as Gasperini Eyes Different Midfield Profile

According to Alfredo Pedullà, reports linking Davide Frattesi with a move to AS Roma have been firmly denied.

At present, there is no concrete interest from the Giallorossi in signing the midfielder from Inter Milan. While Frattesi has frequently been mentioned in transfer speculation involving Roma, sources indicate that the club is not actively pursuing a deal.

Should Manu Koné depart during the transfer window, Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini would reportedly prefer a different type of midfielder to replace him. Rather than targeting a player with Frattesi’s characteristics, Gasperini is said to be evaluating alternative profiles better suited to his tactical vision.

Furthermore, Roma are not interested in arranging player-swap deals designed primarily to generate capital gains on the balance sheet. The club’s transfer strategy remains focused on strengthening the squad with players who fit Gasperini’s project rather than pursuing accounting-driven operations.

As things stand, a move for Frattesi does not appear to be part of Roma’s plans, despite ongoing rumors linking the Italy international with a return to the capital.
