Roma to pay €1m compensation to Atalanta for D’Amico

In the coming hours, Roma are expected to finalize the appointment of their new sporting director — and money is proving to be the key factor. The Tony D’Amico situation remains unresolved a week after Atalanta officially announced his departure, but sources at Trigoria insist the matter has now been settled and that the official announcement will arrive either today or tomorrow.

To complete the deal, Roma are set to pay around €1 million to release both D’Amico and Riccardo Del Vescovo, who is expected to become the club’s new medical director. The plan remains unchanged: D’Amico will take over as Roma’s sporting director, while Del Vescovo will head the medical department.

With these appointments, the Friedkin ownership group will have completed the first major step in reshaping the club’s management structure.
