The bureaucratic deadlock delaying Tony D’Amico’s official appointment is not causing concern within Roma’s senior management. The formal announcement of the club’s incoming Sporting Director is not a priority for the Friedkin family, who are well aware that the Abruzzo-born executive has already been working behind the scenes, carefully implementing Gian Piero Gasperini’s initial technical directives.
Once the final financial details with Atalanta are settled—a process that will require the manager to forgo one month’s salary—D’Amico’s presence at Trigoria is expected to become even more frequent starting on Monday.
Contrary to earlier reports, Roma have already submitted a formal request to Lega Serie A for a derogation.
