According to Alfredo Pedullà, the club’s priority is to concentrate its major investments on attacking wingers. Crysencio Summerville remains a target for the left wing position.
Meanwhile, Antonio Nusa, Christos Tzolis, Brahim Díaz, and Igor Paixão are no longer being considered.
Roma are also in the market for a wing-back. The Giallorossi had shown interest in Matteo Ruggeri, who is currently with Atlético Madrid. However, according to Pedullà, Atlético are unlikely to part ways with the Italian-born 2002 defender, and their asking price starts at €25 million.
As for the backup striker role, Gianluca Scamacca had appeared set for a long-awaited return to Trigoria, but that move is now unlikely to materialize. Atalanta are not willing to let the Italian forward leave for a modest fee, while Roma have no intention of committing significant resources to a reserve centre-forward.
Next week will be dedicated to contract renewals, with the club aiming to bridge the gap in negotiations with Paulo Dybala, Zeki Çelik, and Lorenzo Pellegrini.
