Fiorentina have set their sights on one of Roma’s brightest young prospects, Alessandro Romano.
The central midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan at Spezia and is expected to return to Trigoria in the coming weeks. However, his impressive performances in Serie B have attracted strong interest from Fiorentina, with sporting director Fabio Paratici reportedly preparing an offer worth around €3 million, according to OneFootball.
The Italian-Swiss midfielder, born in 2006, is under contract with Roma until 2027, but breaking into Gian Piero Gasperini’s plans next season could prove difficult. As a result, a transfer may represent the best solution for all parties, allowing Roma to cash in on the youngster rather than risk losing him for free down the line.
Romano quickly established himself as a key player at Spezia, making 19 appearances and providing one assist while becoming a regular starter for the Serie B side.
