According to Corriere dello Sport, Roma are exploring ways to comply with UEFA’s financial requirements without being forced to part with any of their most important players.
Unless UEFA agrees to extend the club’s Settlement Agreement by an additional year, the Giallorossi essentially face two options: sanction the sale of a major first-team star or generate the necessary capital gains through a series of smaller departures.
Roma’s preferred strategy is the latter. The club hopes to raise significant funds by moving on several peripheral players and squad members who are not considered central to Gian Piero Gasperini’s project.
Among the names reportedly on the market are Tommaso Baldanzi, Anass Salah-Eddine, Luigi Cherubini, Riccardo Pagano, Marash Kumbulla, Devyne Rensch, and Jan Ziolkowski. Collectively, these departures could help Roma generate the capital gains required to meet UEFA’s targets while preserving the core of the squad.
The club’s objective remains clear: balance the books without sacrificing the key players expected to form the backbone of Gasperini’s Roma. Whether that approach proves sufficient will depend on the market and the club’s ability to secure favorable deals in the coming weeks.
