One of the names linked to Trigoria in recent hours is Matteo Ruggeri, who is expected to leave Atlético Madrid.
However, according to Matteo Moretto, the former Atalanta full-back is not currently a concrete option for Roma — a situation that also applies to Juventus.
Ruggeri could return to Italy in this transfer window, but only Fiorentina are pushing strongly for him at this stage. The Viola are reportedly leading the race, with sporting director Fabio Paratici a strong admirer of the player.
Atlético Madrid are understood to be asking for between €22 million and €25 million, a valuation that still needs to be met for any deal to progress.
