Roma’s season ended with a dramatic finale, with Devyne Rensch emerging as one of the unexpected protagonists. The Dutch full-back turned the game around against Parma at the Tardini, scoring his first goal of the season and winning a penalty converted by Malen, helping keep Roma’s Champions League dream alive. However, despite that impact, the 23-year-old is not guaranteed a long-term future at Trigoria, with his situation still open.
Roma Transfer Market: Rensch’s Future Uncertain
The reasons are both tactical and strategic. Gian Piero Gasperini is expected to rely primarily on Wesley, Çelik, and Angeliño as his main options on the flanks, leaving Rensch with a secondary role in the squad. Roma are also already monitoring several alternatives for the wing-back positions, including Dodo, Zappacosta, Carlos Augusto, Malacia, and young prospect Culbreath.
Although Rensch has been useful as a rotational option—especially in covering emergencies and adapting to a back three system—his most consistent performances have only come in the final stretch of the season from April onwards.
Roma Transfer Market: Rensch Seeks Regular Minutes, €10–12M Valuation
Signed from Ajax in January 2025 for around €6 million, Rensch has made 50 appearances across Serie A and the Europa League. His current valuation is estimated at €10–12 million, a figure that could make a summer departure attractive both for Roma’s financial planning and for the player, who is seeking a more regular starting role.
Off the pitch, Rensch has also played an important role in helping Malen settle in, becoming a close reference point for his compatriot both in training and around the city. But heading into the summer, the situation is clear: remain at Trigoria in a reduced role, or leave to secure a more central role elsewhere and generate a potential capital gain for the club.
