Roma Eye Dodô as Right-Flank Reinforcement Returns to the Radar

Roma continue to push forward in the transfer market with the clear objective of strengthening the wide areas of the pitch, a key component of Gian Piero Gasperini’s tactical project.

While attention has often been focused on the left flank, in recent hours the right side has once again become a priority in the club’s internal evaluations. Among the profiles under consideration is Dodô, the Brazilian full-back currently at Fiorentina, who has already been linked with Roma in the past.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the option has returned to prominence following a shift in Napoli’s position. The Neapolitan club had shown strong interest in the player in recent weeks, but their slowdown in pursuit has reopened the scenario for other clubs.

Roma are now closely monitoring developments, aware that Dodô’s profile fits several of the characteristics sought by Gasperini for the role. The Brazilian offers attacking thrust, strong technical ability, and solid experience in Serie A — qualities that make him an appealing candidate for a system built around dynamic wing play.

Gasperini, who traditionally relies on full-backs and wing-backs capable of influencing both phases of play, could see Dodô as a valuable addition in terms of both build-up contribution and transitional impact.

At present, however, the situation remains at an exploratory stage rather than an advanced negotiation. Roma will need to assess financial conditions, potential outgoing transfers, and overall squad balance before deciding whether to proceed with a formal move.

Even so, Dodô remains a concrete name on the Giallorossi’s shortlist. With the right flank identified as an area in need of reinforcement, the Brazilian has once again emerged as a profile to watch closely in the weeks ahead.
