Summerville Deal Cooling as Roma Balk at Wage Demands – Alternative Targets Identified

Crysencio Summerville has emerged as one of the names linked to Roma ahead of the summer transfer window, but the operation now appears to be facing significant obstacles.

According to Il Messaggero, it was the Dutch winger himself who effectively slowed down early discussions during the winter, after initial talks collapsed due to West Ham’s high valuation of around €40 million.

In the current scenario, however, it is the player’s wage demands that are proving to be the main stumbling block. Summerville is reportedly seeking a contract worth around €6 million per season, a figure considered too high by the Giallorossi hierarchy.

Roma are unwilling to meet those conditions and are already evaluating alternative options should the deal fail to progress.

Among the profiles being monitored are Johan Bakayoko, Antonio Nusa, and Konstantinos Tzolis, all of whom are seen as more financially sustainable solutions for the club’s attacking reinforcement plans.

For now, Summerville remains on Roma’s radar, but the gap between demand and offer has made the operation increasingly complicated, forcing the club to reassess its priorities on the market.
