Torino Monitoring Kumbulla as Roma Search for a New Solution

Roma continue to work on their outgoing transfer business, with several players facing uncertain futures ahead of the new season.

Among them is Marash Kumbulla, who has returned to the capital following the end of his loan spell at Mallorca.

The Albanian centre-back remains under contract with the Giallorossi until 2028, but a long-term stay in Rome appears increasingly unlikely as the club evaluates options for the summer window.

According to OneFootball, Torino have revived their interest in Kumbulla in recent days. The Granata are looking to strengthen their defensive department, and the 25-year-old has emerged as one of the profiles under consideration.

A key factor is the presence of sporting director Gianluca Petrachi, who knows Kumbulla well and is reportedly keeping a close eye on the defender’s situation. Torino are expected to explore potential opportunities as the market develops.

Kumbulla’s loan spell in Spain proved challenging. Injuries significantly disrupted his campaign at Mallorca, limiting him to just 10 appearances across all competitions, including eight matches in La Liga and two in the Copa del Rey. A thigh injury sidelined him for a lengthy period early in the season, and further fitness setbacks prevented him from establishing regular playing time.

As a result, Mallorca opted against exercising their purchase option, sending the defender back to Roma.

The Giallorossi are now expected to assess both loan and permanent transfer proposals as they look to find the best solution for Kumbulla’s future. With Torino showing renewed interest, the coming weeks could prove decisive in determining the next chapter of his career.
