Arsenal Reach Agreement with Koné as Roma Set €50 Million Asking Price

Manu Koné’s future at Roma could become one of the major storylines of the summer transfer window, with Arsenal reportedly stepping up their interest in the French midfielder.

According to Il Corriere della Sera, the Premier League club have identified Koné as a key target to strengthen their midfield and have already reached an agreement in principle with the player’s entourage regarding personal terms.

Roma, however, are in no rush to sell and have placed a €50 million valuation on the midfielder. The Giallorossi are only prepared to consider a transfer if their asking price is met within the next two weeks, making any potential deal highly time-sensitive.

The timing is significant. Once the World Cup concludes, Gian Piero Gasperini is expected to fully integrate Koné into his plans for the new season. The Frenchman is regarded as a crucial piece of the coach’s midfield project, and Roma would prefer to retain him unless a substantial offer arrives.

Koné has attracted interest from several top European clubs thanks to his energy, technical quality, and ability to dictate play in midfield. Arsenal’s move represents the most concrete development so far, but Roma remain determined to protect one of their most valuable assets.

Unless an offer matching the club’s demands materialises in the coming days, the expectation is that Koné will remain in the capital and play a central role in Gasperini’s new-look Roma.
