Roma Tracking Fofana and Komur as Options Emerge for Attacking Midfield Reinforcements

Roma continue to explore multiple solutions to strengthen their attacking midfield options, with several young and promising profiles once again under consideration as the club shapes its long-term squad strategy.

According to Corriere dello Sport (J. Aliprandi), one of the most notable names to resurface is Malick Fofana. The Lyon attacker, born in 2005, had already been monitored in the past by former Roma sporting director Ricky Massara and is now back on the Giallorossi’s radar as a potential option to reinforce the left side of the attacking midfield.

Fofana is regarded as one of the most exciting young talents in Ligue 1, but Lyon have set a valuation of around €30 million. This figure makes any potential operation complex and heavily dependent on Roma’s ability to balance financial priorities, outgoing transfers, and squad planning before moving forward.

Alongside the Belgian forward, Roma are also evaluating Augsburg midfielder Mert Komur. According to reports from Germany, the 2005-born talent is among the profiles monitored by the club and is considered a more financially accessible option, while still offering strong technical potential and room for development.

Komur’s profile fits Roma’s growing focus on young, high-upside players who can be integrated into the squad over time rather than immediate starters, making him an interesting alternative should more expensive targets prove difficult to secure.

In addition, Roma continue to keep an eye on Nikola Vlasic of Torino, another name appreciated for his experience in Serie A and his ability to operate between the lines.

As the transfer window progresses, the Giallorossi’s strategy remains clear: identify a mix of established quality and emerging talent to ensure both immediate competitiveness and long-term squad growth.
