Roma explored the possibility of signing Crysencio Summerville in recent weeks, but the deal is currently considered extremely difficult to complete due to the financial demands involved.
According to Matteo Moretto, the Giallorossi made enquiries and gathered information on the Dutch winger as they continue their search for attacking reinforcements suited to Gian Piero Gasperini’s system. However, both the transfer fee and the player’s salary expectations make the operation highly complicated for the club.
The situation is further complicated by strong competition from some of Europe’s biggest clubs. Summerville is attracting significant interest on the international market, with Manchester United among the teams reportedly monitoring his situation, alongside several other elite European sides.
Given the level of competition and the financial resources available to his other suitors, the path leading to Summerville is becoming increasingly difficult for Roma and, more broadly, for Italian clubs.
While the former Leeds United star remains a player appreciated by the Giallorossi, the current feeling is that a move to the capital is unlikely unless there is a significant change in the financial conditions surrounding the deal.
For now, Roma continue to evaluate alternative targets as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.
