Tottenham Hotspur have entered the race to sign AS Roma winger Matías Soulé, adding further competition in what is shaping up to be a busy summer for the Argentine attacker.
According to Calciomercato, the North London club are now actively competing with Aston Villa for the 22-year-old, as Roma weigh up potential departures to generate funds before the end of June.
The Giallorossi’s strategy is closely tied to the need to comply with UEFA financial requirements, with player sales expected to play a key role in balancing the club’s accounts ahead of the deadline.
Roma are believed to value Soulé in the region of €35–40 million. The winger, signed after a significant investment, is viewed as a player who could generate an important capital gain if sold at the right price.
Tottenham’s entry into the picture adds a new dimension to the situation, particularly given the Premier League’s strong financial power compared to other interested clubs. Aston Villa’s long-standing interest further intensifies the competition for the Argentine’s signature.
For now, Soulé remains focused on his role at Roma, but with interest growing from England and financial pressure increasing in the capital, his future could soon become one of the key talking points of the summer transfer window.
