Roma Transfer Meeting at Trigoria: Gasperini Plans Sales, Renewals and New Defender Signing

Roma’s sporting leadership is working intensively at Trigoria, where Gian Piero Gasperini, sporting director Tony D’Amico, and captain Lorenzo Pellegrini are holding a key transfer meeting. The agenda is broad and urgent: contract renewals, capital gains to be secured before June 30 to comply with financial regulations, and squad reinforcements for the new season.

According to Il Tempo, one of the priorities is strengthening the defensive line. Gasperini is currently assessing a group that includes Gianluca Mancini, Evan Ndicka, Mario Hermoso, Diego Llorente, and new arrival Dean Huijsen-type profiles, while some exits are still expected. Despite Roma’s strong defensive record for long stretches last season—built on compact organization and Mile Svilar’s decisive saves—the coach wants more depth and balance in the back line.

Mario Hermoso has emerged as one of the more positive surprises, having initially been outside Gasperini’s plans but now seen as a useful option. The coach is reportedly still pushing for a left-footed central defender to complement the current group and provide tactical flexibility ahead of a demanding campaign.
