Cagliari are pushing to complete the signing of Roma youngster Alessandro Romano before June 30, according to journalist Filippo Biafora. The Sardinian club have intensified contacts with both Roma and the player’s representatives as they look to finalize an agreement in the coming days.
Biafora reports that Cagliari have now moved ahead of Palermo in the race for the highly-rated midfielder. The Rossoblù are currently in pole position to secure Romano’s signature, with negotiations progressing positively between the parties involved.
The deal is expected to be worth between €6 million and €7 million. Should the transfer be completed, Swiss club Winterthur would receive 15 percent of the transfer fee as part of a previously agreed sell-on clause.
