Roma Complete Alessandro Romano Sale to Cagliari

Roma have finalized the permanent transfer of highly-rated youngster Alessandro Romano to Cagliari as the club continues to work toward meeting UEFA Settlement Agreement requirements before the June 30 deadline.

After several days of negotiations, the two clubs reached a full agreement, with Cagliari securing the Swiss midfielder for a fixed fee of €5 million plus approximately €1.5 million in performance-related bonuses. The deal was completed after Romano agreed personal terms with the Sardinian club.

The transfer is expected to generate just under €6 million in capital gains for Roma, although 15% of the fee will be owed to Swiss side Winterthur, where the midfielder began his development before joining the Giallorossi.

The paperwork has now been exchanged between the clubs, and Romano is scheduled to undergo his medical with Cagliari tomorrow before officially completing the move.
